Captain Kevin Nicholls has echoed the managers calls for a new stadium to be finalised for the club.

‘I have been here since August 2001, and I was told [by a previous board] when I signed that there would be a new stadium in place by 2003,’ Nicholls revealed.

‘MK Dons are due to be in place at their new ground [by Christmas 2006], so what is the hold up when it comes to us? It seems to be taking such a long time.

‘We need to get the blinkers off and get going. When he said what he did, the manager was trying to make it known that everyone was ready to move to a new stadium.’

The frustration has arisen from the news last week that plans to move to a site near Junction 10 of the M1 fell though, leaving the current board hopeful that a deal could made for a site near junction 12 in readiness for the start of the 2008/09 season.
