Barnsley 0 Luton 1 – View From The Bench

There is no doubting that the pressure was on Nathan Jones ahead of the clash with Barnsley, at Oakwell, last night.

After two consecutive defeats, in all competitions, the gaffer knew his side had to get a result against the side from South Yorkshire.

With the games coming thick and fast, Nathan chose to shuffle his pack and made several changes including bringing in Jerome, Lockyer, Kioso, Lansbury and Muskwe.

It was a ploy that worked with the Hatters scoring an early goal, courtesy of Bell, then producing a workmanlike performance to keep our hosts at bay, although Luton were grateful for some poor finishing from the Barnsley side.

Naturally, after the win, it was a delighted Nathan that spoke to the local media, remarking, as reported by The BBC

“It’s a difficult place to come, they are a difficult side, they cause you problems.

“It was a tight game, a difficult game, we worked and dug in late on.

“We had a tough lesson on Saturday but they have bounced back absolutely magnificently.”

Indeed, they did and if the side can produce something against Birmingham City, on Saturday, at Kenilworth Road, then there is no reason why we can’t get another three points.
