With our former keeper Dean Brill carving out a new career in Scottish football, highly successfully we might add, another former Hatter looks to be heading in the same direction.

Michael Spillane, who has played for our Skrill Premier rivals Cambridge after leaving Luton, is now a free agent and has been training with the Scottish Premier League side, St Johnstone.

It would appear that St Johnstone are beset with injury problems with their manager, Tommy Wright, having remarked to the media,

“We can`t go with four defenders for the rest of the season.”

“The only other fit centre-back is Ally Gilchrist, who has just played U20 football.”

“If need be we will use him but I think it would be remiss of me if I didn`t bring somebody in going into such a crucial part of the season.”

“We are looking at one or two options and will then make a decision.”

Our best wishes go to Michael as he hopes to secure a contract.
