A Wider Audience!

Last season, when Luton Town were playing live on the television, I`m not sure what the viewing figures would have been like.

However, I seriously doubt that anyone other than a seasoned Hatters fan would have taken time out to pay the subscription fee and tune in to the coverage.

But this season things are different!

After negotiations were concluded it was decreed that BT Sports would showing Conference football live.

Now this opens up a realm of possibilities but the most important being that the opportunity is there for Luton to get far more exposure with more football lovers tuning in, even more so with there being no Premier League football on offer this weekend.

John Still reckons it could have another advantage though with those who watch us on the television could be enticed to venture to a non-league game or as Sill puts it,

“I think it`s fantastic that BT Sport have picked the baton up from Premier Sports to give it as much publicity as possible because the level of it is so good.’

“The level of football I think is terrific, better than it`s ever been. I think it`s getting the publicity it deserves and I think that what it does is it opens its door to more supporters.”

“Because people can see it and they might be a Birmingham supporter that actually lives in Newport Pagnell and never been to a Conference game, sees it on the telly and goes, ‘I`ll tell you what, what a good game. I`ll go and watch one or two`.

“And they might end up coming to us or going to something a bit nearer and I think that`s absolute quality. It`s good exposure for the club, good exposure for the players and good exposure for the competition.”

Good news all round then!
