A Lesson Learned?

Football can be a strange old game.

Take the case of Alex Lawless!

Last season I reckon you`d have had me carted off to the funny farm if I`d have suggested that the, then, much-maligned Lawless, would be named as the Loyal Luton and Bobbers Travel Player of the Year.

Lawless, having arrived from York City, was having trouble winning the support over let alone becoming the crowd favourite he is now.

To say there was friction between Alex and the Hatters supporters is probably an understatement.

However, Alex stuck to his game and has shown us , this season, he is a classy operative and somebody upon which Luton will need to build their promotion charge next season.

Speaking about the aforementioned recognition, to the local press, Alex has commented,

“It meant a lot after one of the most difficult times of my career last year, when I was taking a bit of stick.”

“To turn it around and do it at a club like Luton makes me even more proud, because with the amount of fans there are, that`s a lot more people to try and convince.”

To be brutally honest, perhaps us fickle supporters should have gotten behind Alex more instead of getting on his case!
