Tonight, the Hatters get some respite from the bread-and-butter of League One football when they open their Carabao Cup campaign.

Luton make the trip to the West Midlands to take on West Bromwich Albion in an attractive tie.

Whilst the Hatters were enjoying a successful promotion campaign last term, the Baggies were losing their top-flight status, slipping onto the Championship.

After taking just a solitary point from their opening two League One fixtures, Luton will be looking to get a win under their belts.

However, it remains to be seen what sides the two clubs play.

In previous seasons, the Carabao Cup has become notorious for teams, especially those in the higher divisions, from playing weakened sides, with an influx of fringe players and youngsters.

West Bromwich Albion, who have their eyes on an immediate return to the Premier League, may follow the plan above.

But, Nathan Jones, may take the opportunity to use a strong side to not only pull off something of a cup shock but also to get a much-needed victory that will give the squad an air of confidence ahead of the round of fixtures this coming weekend.

All in all, it has the makings of an entertaining and interesting tie.
