Continuing our ongoing series where you pick the best Hatters XI containing players you have seen play, in the flesh.
Thankfully, our occasional series has been received in the manner in which I had hoped.
Lurking in the vault are several ‘Best XI’ combinations which will be revealed in the coming weeks.
But what has enthralled me most about the selections I’ve received is that they come from a variety of era’s showing me that visitors to this site are from all age groups.
Today, to keep the series moving, I’ve selected, to publish, the Best XI submitted by Brian Smith.
I have to admit, being a 60’s child, I haven’t seen several of those listed play but theIr names are pretty familiar, although I do admit I did have to Google Reg Smith.
So, without further ado, here is Brian Smith’s XI
Goalkeeper
• Ron Baynham
Defenders
• James Justin
• Mal Donaghy
• Steve Foster
• Bon Morton
Midfield
• Reg Pearce
• Graham French
• George Cummins
• Billy Bingham
Forwards
• Malcolm MacDonald
• Brian Stein
Brian, in submitting his XI offered the following thought:
“Would they at their best get the necessary points to stay up this season?”
My view is undoubtedly, but would anyone else like to comment?
If you wish to participate in this ongoing series, then simply drop your ‘Best-Ever XI’ into the comment facility beneath this article and I’ll do the rest and turn it into an article.

West Brom to Win!
Luton Town to Win!
