In what are difficult times, I’ve been urged to, however hard it may be, to look for a positive aspect on things.

So, in the light of what has been requested, I’ve dug deep and here goes.

1 – Despite an awful run of results it was very pleasing to see that 1714 Hatters made the trek to the south coast to support their team. Those numbers show that their support is as loyal as ever and those who made the trek deserve a special mention.

2 – Although it is not what people want to hear, exiting the FA Cup could be a blessing in disguise. Whilst we’re always appreciative of a decent cup run and the excitement it brings, this season is now all about ensuring it doesn’t end in relegation. The Hatters are in the unenviable position of being bottom of the table but with 20 Championship games to go, there is still time to put a run of results together that can see us climb the table. Surely, there are three teams worse than us in the Championship? Confidence may be low but a win, hopefully against Birmingham City this weekend, could see the club galvanised.

3 – The January transfer window is open; the opportunity is there to add to the squad with either the odd buy or a decent loan acquisition or two. If those who oversee such things can pull something out of the hat, then who knows!
